Sliding is Fun in Cumulus DegradeSliding is Fun

What a perfect summer project! Soft, lightweight and mindless. The fabric is so lofty that it wraps and folds very nicely without feeling bulky. Plus, there is no purling required, as this blanket calls for double-ended knitting, a technique that requires you to slide the stitches to the opposite end of a circular needle rather than turning the fabric to work a new color.

The effects of using this gradient yarn are so exciting! By intentionally starting from the inside of one skein and the outside of the other, the more saturated hues on either end fade into lighter hues throughout the middle. Another way to work this blanket is to mix a solid color with a variegated for a lively and yet more consistent display of color.
