If you know the basics but just need a little support now and then, join us at the table every Tuesday and Thursday for Happy Hour! The Yarn Soup community is here to assist with your knitting and crochet questions, demonstrate new techniques, and connect you with others who share your passion for yarn and needle crafts. No registration required; come whenever you can!

Lace and Lifelines: Easy Spring Poncho ($15 + supplies)

Tuesday, March 20  |  5:30–7:30 p.m.

Knitted lace may look complex, but most lace patterns are easy to tackle once you know how to yarn over and knit 2 together! Gain confidence with lace knitting in this workshop that is designed to help you start a simple spring poncho. We’ll practice using a lifeline to save both time and stitches!

Materials: 300–400 grams worsted weight yarn in cotton blend (we recommend Berroco Weekend); 1 yard of waste yarn; size US 10 circular needles

Tuesday, March 27
5:30–7:30 p.m.

Short rows allow you to create interesting and unusual shapes in your knitting. Learn how to execute German short rows, wrap & turn short rows, and more in this workshop! We’ll sample the different short-row techniques while creating a practical item for your home.

Materials: Worsted weight yarn in either 100% wool (we recommend Noro Kureyon) or 100% cotton (we recommend Universal Cotton Supreme); size US 8 needles; locking stitch markers
