Basic Beginner Classes

To register for a class, please call the shop or stop by with payment information so that we can hold your spot. You can purchase any needed supplies during class.

Beginner Knitting ($35)

Monday, November 27 and December 4
6–8 p.m.

Learn the foundations of knitting: casting on, the knit stitch, the purl stitch, and binding off. Students will also learn the difference between garter and stockinette stitch, as well as gain tips on reading knitting patterns. As time permits, we’ll help you start a fun, basic project!

Materials to bring: Size 8, 9 or 10 needles in wood or bamboo, which can be purchased during the class; sample yarn is provided.

Beginner Crochet ($30)

Thursday, November 30
5:30–8:30 p.m.

Once you learn to chain (ch), single crochet (sc), half-double crochet (hdc) and double crochet (dc), most crochet projects are within your reach. We will practice the stitches and explore how to use them to make small projects.

Materials to bring: Size H, I or J crochet hook, which can be purchased during the class; sample yarn is provided.
